You Decide My Fate*

It is time. This week, I plan to purchase with my own hard-earned cash (which shows how much I loved it), a bike I reviewed not too long ago: the Cannondale Synapse. Being the unable-to-decide-on-my-own type, I'm struggling with which color to pick. So, I'm putting it up to you. Do I go for carbon, or silver.

Right on the heels of that decision: Do I keep the Ksyrium SLs, or go with a set of Topolinos? If I go with the Topolinos, anyone interested in a new set of Ksyrium SLs? I hope to order the bike sometime this week, so start posting! The Topolinos will shave a few grams off the bike, and they'd look cool with the matte carbon frame, but I can't buy them until I sell the Ksyriums... which means buying them might delay me being able to ride the bike by a few weeks.

Another thing to consider: There is snow on the ground, so even if I got it today, I wouldn't be riding out on the roads.

Do you see now why I can't decide?

*Note: I reserve the right to decide for myself, if I ever figure it out--though your comments will definately be considered.

I like the black with the silver wheels. Nice and easy...

I have to go with Silver and Silver wheels.

Ok, you may have to take this with a grain of salt, seeing how it's coming from a auto-commuter that's pushing 400 lbs. But it's always better to ride than to not ride.

I have to agree with James. Based on looks alone, I'd go with Silver and Silver wheels.

I really liked the way the Topolino's rode, but I didn't care for their looks.

Definitely the Carbon bike!!! It's so much cleaner looking, without all those colors that are on the silver one. It's a beautiful bike. The wheels that are on it look fine to me, but I don't know anything about any of the wheels.
Congrats on whichever bike you end up with!

Black frame for sure. The white/silver paint makes the bike look cheap. Wheels are a bit tougher choice, but since we are already going with the black frame, we must have silver wheels.

Logan likes the black too and his favorite part of the bike are the wheels (just incase his opinion matters to you).

Dammit Jon, get the black one already. You know "naked" carbon is the sexiest thing since Marilyn Monroe...

I would say, go with what your wife likes. Since she probably feels the effects of such a major purchase (such as no clothes for the kids, no food for the table, no gas money to get a Smokey Big Bite at 7-11, and so forth, I would value her opinion.

Good luck!

Carbon. The design on the silver looks like somebody put stickers all over it. You don't want people to call you StickerBoy.

Duh

Has to be the black bike with the newer wheels. You can ebay the others and get a nice black bike w/black wheels that are lighter.

The silver bike is to messy and doesn't look as clean as the black bike. With black rims and black frame you can also paint MIB on the side for that next level of cool.

I heard Libby also said she would rather have you spend the money on some sweet new biking gloves or get some biking shorts that don't have holes in them instead of a lens, so do that.

Black with silver wheels is definitely better, in my opinion. Much classier. Baby Sarah agrees. Don't know about the other accessory since my last foray into the world of biking involved stitches and a trip to the emergency room, but if you aren't riding it anyway, try to sell what you have and get the thing you like better (Libby, don't hate me for coaxing him to spend more!) Good luck--Very exciting!

At first I didn't like the black, but looking at the closeup of it.... now I think it's hot. As far as wheels go, if you have confidence in the lighter ones, then go for it. I like black on black. It is something you don't usually see in a road bike.
